Create an event QR code

An Event QR code stores calendar details in a VEVENT payload. A compatible scanner can open those details in a calendar app so the person scanning can review and save the event.

How to create an Event QR code

  1. Enter an event name and choose the correct time zone.
  2. Add the start time and optional end time, venue, website, note and alerts.
  3. Scan the preview on the calendar apps your audience uses.
  4. Check the displayed date, local time and time zone, then select Download.

The event details are stored directly in this static code. Updating an online calendar event will not change a downloaded QR code, and the code does not track saves or attendance. Create a replacement when the time or venue changes.

Calendar and scanner apps do not all interpret alerts, links and formatting in the same way. Keep notes simple, avoid line breaks and punctuation-heavy text, and test daylight-saving transitions when the event is scheduled near a clock change.
