Create a QR code for a website URL

Paste any complete website address into the URL field and the preview updates automatically. You can change the colours, shape and logo, then download the finished QR code for print or digital use. The free guest generator creates a static QR code, so the destination is stored directly in the code and no account is required.

How to create a website QR code

  1. Enter the full destination, including https://.
  2. Check the live preview and customise the design if needed.
  3. Scan the preview with a phone before publishing it.
  4. Choose a file format and select Download.

Use a high-contrast design and leave clear space around the code. Test the downloaded file at the same size and on the same material you plan to publish.

Static and dynamic URL QR codes

A static URL QR code contains the final website address. It continues to work as long as that destination remains available, but the address inside a printed code cannot be changed.

A dynamic URL QR code points to a saved short link that redirects to your destination. After you sign in, you can create a saved dynamic URL QR code, update its destination later and use the scan analytics included with your plan. Because the printed code points to the saved link, you do not need to reprint it when the destination changes.

Common uses for website QR codes

  • Send customers from packaging or menus to a product page.
  • Open a booking, registration or feedback form.
  • Share a portfolio, campaign page or social profile.
  • Connect printed signs and flyers to current online information.

Website QR code questions

Do I need to sign up?

No. You can create and download a static website URL QR code without an account. Sign in when you need a saved dynamic URL, editable destination or plan-based scan analytics.

Will a static QR code expire?

The QR image itself does not expire. It will stop opening useful content if the encoded website address is removed, changed or becomes unavailable.

Can I change the website after printing?

Only a saved dynamic URL QR code can redirect to a new destination without changing the printed code. For a static URL QR code, create and print a new code.
